Emily Locher

Emily Locher is Capstone’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for oversight and counsel to Capstone in connection with the firm’s legal, compliance and regulatory obligations. Emily previously served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Summit Rock Advisors, LP, an advisory firm that provides advice and portfolio management to families, foundations and endowments. Before that, Emily spent eight years at AQR Capital Management, LLC where she was Deputy General Counsel and Head of Legal for AQR’s European entities. Prior to joining AQR, Emily held positions in the AIG Global Investment Group’s Hedge Fund Strategies Group and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld’s Investment Funds group.  Emily began her career at Soros Fund Management.

Emily received a BA in the Program of Liberal Studies and Russian, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. She also received her JD from Duke University and her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Emily currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, an institute within the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs.
