David L. Zimmerman

David L. Zimmerman joined Capstone in April 2026 as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for managing the firm’s legal, regulatory and compliance functions.

David has two decades of experience as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for leading hedge funds, initially for eight years at QFS Asset Management, L.P., a Connecticut-based systematic macro and currency manager, and then for nine years at Graticule Asset Management Asia, a Singapore-based macro manager. Most recently, he spent two years as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at West Basin Capital Management, a New York-based startup macro manager. David’s legal career began in the Investment Management group at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

He received his JD from the Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his BA in History from Yale University.
