Capstone is looking to add an Analyst who will play a critical role in our mission to build a world-class Finance team to drive an understanding of our financial results and empower decisions on the future direction of the Company. This is a full-time position based out of Capstone’s New York City headquarters, working as a part of our Management Accounting team. The Analyst will be part of a team comprised of 7 total team members, and will report to the firm’s Management Company Controller. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the Management Controller and Assistant Management Controller by working closely with the Management Accounting team to be accountable for multiple aspects of Capstone’s management company including four foreign subsidiaries and two general partner entities
• Work on accurate and timely booking of cash entries 
• Collaborate with the SVP of FP&A on month end reporting, cash management for all entities, and analysis of Investor Relations cost center.
• Work closely with the SVP of Tax on bookings of tax payments and running reporting to facilitate tax return preparation
• Identify areas of opportunity and automation projects to increase efficiency, maximize resources, and improve the quality controls available to us
• Work with the Fund Accounting team to maintain consistency between their books and Management Accounting team’s
• Review of month end account reconciliations for multiple foreign entities, as well as responsibilities for select areas of the consolidated monthly reporting
• Support the annual audits and compilations for the Management Accounting team
• Other duties as assigned

 

DESIRABLE CANDIDATES:

• Strong organizational skills in oversight of various tasks concurrently while maintaining awareness of their status in achieving the established deadline
• Prior experience in a payroll and compensation capacity but looking for more diversity in their role is a must
• Ability to communicate efficiently and concisely (both written and verbal communication) 
• Strong dedication to quality
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VBA or Microsoft Power Suite experience is a plus), and a level of familiarity with accounting software packages (experience with Great Plains is a plus)
• 2-3 years of experience with management company accounting (preferably from a fund)
• Experience working for a company that offers employee benefits which include health insurance, retirement plans, BYOD programs, and gym reimbursement is a plus
• B.S. in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification is a plus
• Experience interacting with a tax team is a plus 
• Experience with setting up and changing general ledger or payroll systems a plus

 

 

BASE SALARY RANGE

$90,000 – $95,000 USD (depending on experience)
