Macro Research Analyst

Capstone is looking at add a junior economic analyst to the macro strategy team. The economist will report to the Head of Macro Strategy and will aid in data analysis, ad-hoc research projects, interactivity with portfolio managers, and analytical infrastructure build-out. This is a truly unique opportunity to join a growing research team, work directly with the fund’s senior stakeholders, and gain valuable insight and exposure. Must be passionate about macro research in the context of capital and derivatives markets. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build out suite of quantitative tools to aid research and PMs in derivatives market evaluation and trade idea generation
  • Perform regular and ad-hoc analysis on G10 and EM economies and markets
  • Collate, synthesize, and present street research to internal stakeholders
  • Grow and develop research relationships with banks, consultancies, and other financial institutions
  • Develop quantitative analytics and systems to monitor street views, forecasts, and accuracy

DESIRABLE CANDIDATES:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 0-3 years’ experience at an Investment Bank or Asset Manager
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel
  • Programming knowledge in Python
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in the intersection of economics and capital markets
  • Flexibility; Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects  

BASE SALARY RANGE

$120,000 – $150,000
